Chandigarh, March 7, 2024: “Three councillors of India Alliance submitted their nomination papers to the Joint Secretary of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation for the MC Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) today.”

Councillors Kaur, Yadav, and Mehta File Nomination Papers

Councillors Jaswinder Kaur and Ramchandra Yadav from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and councillor Taruna Mehta from Congress filed nomination papers.

“Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board Chairman Dr. SS Ahluwalia, co-in-charge of AAP Chandigarh, along with Chandigarh Congress President HS Lucky, Mayor Kuldeep Kumar, and councillors from AAP and Congress, along with other party leaders and workers, were present.”

“Councillors Jaswinder Kaur, Ramchandra Yadav, and Taruna Mehta jointly affirmed their commitment to prioritize development across all wards, villages, and colonies of Chandigarh as members of F&CC.”

Commitment to Chandigarh’s Development

Further, he stated that the BJP brought Chandigarh city into disrepute worldwide by undermining democracy during the Mayoral elections of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. During its tenure, BJP did not develop Chandigarh city at all nor did it provide any facilities to the people. Now that India Alliance has become the mayor of Chandigarh, BJP is not able to digest this. Now BJP is trying to stall the development work of Chandigarh through government officials.

BJP Attempts to Halt Mayor’s Budget Presentation in Chandigarh

Yesterday, during the Municipal Corporation’s budget presentation, the BJP sent a letter at 10:53 am to government officials, directing them to halt Mayor Kuldeep Kumar’s budget presentation.He said that the people of Chandigarh have now come to know about these dark deeds of BJP. The people of Chandigarh will never forgive BJP for this.
