The Recruitment Process of 1158 Assistant Professors has been halted because of the wrong policies of the Punjab Government.

The Channi Government is advertising and taking credit of successfully recruiting 1158 Assistant Professors and Librarians to woo the votes of people.

The recruitment process has lingered on because the Punjab Government has failed to submit the reply of the writs on time.
A large group of protesting selected Assistant Professors and Librarians would hand over the memorandum to the DPI (Punjab) on January 4. They would, alongwith other Higher Education Organisations, protest on a bigger level if the Punjab Government fails to take the necessary legal actions.
Chandigarh 3 January
70 representatives of 1158 Assistant Professors and Librarians held a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club and demanded the Government should file proper responses immediately in court for completing the recruitment process.
They stated that they would move forward on the path of intense protest if the Government fails to complete the recruitment process.
What is the matter?
The Punjab Government advertised 1158 posts for 33 subjects on regular basis in October, 2021. The written test was held at GNDU, Amritsar and Punjabi University, Patiala between 19-22 November, 2021 and result was declared on 27-28 November, 2021. The appointment letters were handed over from 2nd December. The Government promised to complete the recruitment process within 45 days. However, Kulwinder Singh filed a writ petition on 3 December for violating Article 14 and 16. The Hon’ble Court ordered stay on the recruitment process. It is worth mentioning that the process is delayed because the Government has failed to submit the replies on time.
