Sports Minister wishes pace bowler Arshdeep Singh All The Best for World Cup

Participates in practice session to encourage young cricketer

 

 

Chandigarh, September 15:

 

The Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer today personally congratulated young pace bowler Arshdeep Singh for getting selected into the National team for T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October this year. Extending his Best Wishes to the cricketer, the Minister expressed hope that Arshdeep would bring glory to the country and the State with his performance.

The Minister met the youngster at the cricket ground of Sector 24 and appreciated him for carving out a niche for himself in so short a time at the International level. He termed Arshdeep as a role model for today’s youth who secured a place in the National team by performing well in the domestic cricket and IPL thereby becoming an important player in the death overs in his just 11 overs career.

The Minister also wished the National team all the best and watch Arshdeep practicing in the nets. Earlier, Meet Hayer himself practiced batting at the Sector 16 academy.

 

Among others present on the occasion included Director Sports Rajesh Dhiman, Academy Coach Jaswant Rai, Sandeep Dahiya and Ashwani Garg.
