Social worker and former national executive member of BJP, Pushp Lata Goyal, passed away
Social worker and former national executive member of BJP, Pushp Lata Goyal, popularly known as Pushpaji, passed away here today after a brief illness. She was the wife of the first Member of Parliament from Chandigarh, Babu Shri Chand Goyal, and was 88 years old.
She came into the limelight during the days of Emergency in 1975, when her husband was under arrest for 18 months and she was entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of families of other political prisoners. She was also arrested during that time.
During her active political and social life, she was the Member of National Executive of BJP from 1983
to 1998, Vice President of BJP, Chandigarh (1985), President Mahila Morcha, Chandigarh and Member Education Advisory Committee Chandigarh from 1983- 1999. She was also the member Advisory committee,UT, member Chandigarh housing board and Telephone Advisory committeeChandigarh.
She also remained as the Vice President of Aggarwal Sabha, Chandigarh for almost 10 years .
She is survived by three sons and two daughter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too has telephonically conveyed his condolence message to the family today.
