Punjab Police busted an interstate gang of highway robbers
In a significant victory against organised crime, Punjab Police, led by DGP Gaurav Yadav, IPS, has achieved a major breakthrough. The Patiala Police successfully busted an interstate gang of highway robbers operating from Delhi.
During the operation, law enforcement authorities apprehended five members of this notorious interstate gang from the Rajpura highway. Consequently, this led to the culmination of over 20 criminal cases registered against them under various sections of the IPC, including Sec-307, 395, 392, 382, and 379, as well as the Arms Act, in New Delhi.
Law enforcement authorities seized three pistols, 20 live cartridges, a vehicle, and an assortment of heavy-duty tools utilized in their nefarious activities.
The gang revealed intentions to perpetrate sensational crimes in Ludhiana and Jalandhar, further highlighting the threat they posed to public safety. Punjab Police lodged an FIR under sections 382, 399, 473 of the IPC, and section 25(6) of the Arms Act at PS City Rajpura, Patiala.
