Punjab Government outsourced to Kejriwal: Rajewal

Chandigarh 26 april

In the name of knowledge, expertise and skill sharing an agreement has been signed between the government of NCT of Delhi and the Government of Punjab on a public platform whereby the Punjab governance has been literally outsourced by Bhagwant Singh Mann, Chief Minister of Punjab to Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, said Balbir Singh Rajewal, President, Sanyukt Samaj Morcha. Though the agreement is meant for the welfare of the Public but the earlier draft of the agreement circulating around, spread over 8 pages and organised into 11 Articles, gives every right to Arvind Kejriwal over the functioning of the Punjab government, apprehended Rajewal.

The draft agreement is justified in the name of “close & historic, social and cultural relations between the people of two states” which is a blatant lie and far removed from the historical facts, lamented Rajewal. In fact, the people of Punjab has always made heroic sacrifices against the tyrannical rule of Delhi, reminded Rajewal. How can any Punjabi forget the sacrifice of ninth Sikh guru Teg Bahadur ji at Delhi, wondered Rajewal. As late as the recent Kisan Andolan was against the Delhi Darbar where Kejriwal could have preformed a key role but he chose not to, said Rajewal.

According to the ‘Knowledge Sharing Agreement’, there would be data sharing on the affairs of governance which is not only violation of the constitutional oath of secrecy, it is also making a proud state of Punjabis subservient to the Delhi government. Rajewal asked the Chief Minister of Punjab if he has outsourced governance to Kejriwal for want of confidence in his own competence or in his team of MLAs? Now the ‘officials, Ministers, and other personnel’ from Delhi government would be officially welcomed to the Punjab government in the name of knowledge sharing which is demeaning for the Punjabis and their newly elected government, rued Rajewal.
