Navjot Singh Sidhu met Ministers/MLAs from Urban areas of Punjab ;demand of 300 Units of free power to all domestic consumer including General category

PCC President Navjot Singh Sidhu along with Working Presidents Pawan Goyal and Kuljit Singh Nagra holds meeting for over three hours with a group of INC Ministers/MLAs from Urban areas of Punjab to formulate party’s strategy to solve the issues closest to the heart of People of Urban Punjab.
In a three hour long meeting with over a dozen INC MLAs, financial losses and hardships faced by People of Urban Punjab during the Covid 19 Lockdown and low demand in markets since was discussed as issues of electricity supply, cutting of meters, outstanding bill, regularisation of buildings and plots with demand for One time settlement for residential and commercial buildings were raised.
The meeting concluded with Consensus that Party and Government must act towards a priority agenda to give relief to urban people of Punjab. Foremost among them was demand of 300 Units of free power to all domestic consumer including General category, 24-hours supply of power, decreasing rate of power to 3 Rs per Unit for Domestic Consumer and 5 Rs per Unit for Commercial & Industrial consumers. This is above and beyond the 10,000 Crore Power Subsidy already provided by the State of Punjab, unlike Delhi which provides only 1700 Crores as Power Subsidy. MLAs demanded that Government should immediately provide relief through One Time Settlement in cases of regularisation of plots and building, extending the scheme for  regularisation of Colonies and easing burden of NOC for registration of property, asking PCC President to raise it with the Government at an appropriate form.
