Modi govt wants to trample on sentiments of millions of farmers: Harminder Singh Gill

The BJP government at the Centre is resorting to vile tactics to suppress the farmers’ movement.
The President’s praise of agriculture bills during his speech is reprehensible

Tarn Taran, January 29:

To suppress the farmers’ movement, the BJP government at the Centre is resorting to vile tactics and sending its goons to uproot the tents of the farmers by giving them sticks and inciting them to throw stones, which is an affront to democracy. Expressing these views, Harminder Singh Gill, MLA, Patti said that the Modi Government at the Centre wanted to trample on the sentiments of millions of farmers who were fighting for their rights.

He said that those who vandalized the tents of the farmers should also be booked as the law was the same for all. He said there should also be an enquiry into who they are, where they came from and who sent them.

He said that it was reprehensible for the President to praise the Agriculture Bills during his address today, while during the meeting with the farmers the Union Government was ready to rectify the errors in these Bills. He said that when these erroneous farmers’ bills were praised by the President, it was not fair, which was misleading to the Parliament and the country.
He said that the government should understand the plight of the farmers instead of resorting to such maneuvers. He said that this farmers’ movement was a struggle for every farmer and this issue should be seriously considered by the government. He said that if the Parliament session has started then these laws should be repealed. He said that the government wanted to disturb the peaceful people, instead, they should start a round of talks, without which there will be no solution.

He said that the Union government was neglecting its duties and wanted to crush this people’s movement with force. He also said that whatever was happening on the roads of Delhi, Singhu border, Ghazipur border was a conspiracy of Modi and Amit Shah due to which people are being beaten up and facing violence. He said that the incident at Red Fort was also the result of a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the farmers’ movement and the government should not live in any misunderstanding as the farmers of the country are with this movement.
