Dy CM’s directs Punjab Police to help in making Punjab Bus Stands’ Encroachment-Free

CPs/SSPs directed to provide adequate Police Force to transport department to remove encroachments at bus stands

CHANDIGARH, October 2:

Following directions of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Director General of Police, Punjab Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota on Saturday directed all CPs/SSPs to provide adequate Police Force to the General Managers (GM) of the Punjab Roadways and PRTC, to help them in removal of encroachments at all the Bus Stands.The development came three days after Transport Minister Amrinder Singh Raja Warring ordered officers of transport department to ensure that all bus stands across the state are made free of encroachments.

The order further says that the Police force has to be provided under the command of a Gazetted Officer to the GMs of the Transport Department on their request .General Managers of Transport Department (Punjab Roadways and PRTC) shall be the Nodal Officers, who will liaise with the concerned CP/SSP, the order reads.

Meanwhile, Range IGsP/DIGs are requested to monitor these important directions of the state Govt.
