Dy. CLP leader blames govt of bias towards SC community and females
It is very disheartening that that party who came in power by taking advantage of Baba Sahib Ambedkar’s name, is today overlooking the interests of his community, his followers and of females, whom he worked to bring up in the society. These thoughts were expressed by Dr. raj Kumar, the Dy. CLP leader in a press conference today at Punjab Congress Bhawan, Chandigarh. He addressed the press today to take up the matter of reservations not considered for SCs , BCs and Women in the vacancies notified by Punjab Govt. for law officers in advocate general office. He emphasized that not only SC and BC community is debarred of their right but also the females who were given 33% reservation in all government jobs by previous congress govt. He said that when the sufferers approached the National SC Commission and the commission issued notice to Punjab govt to roll back the advertisement and issue a fresh one with consideration to the SC Act, AAP govt. instead of taking action and rectifying the mistake, filed a writ in high court with the plea that they need efficient workforce. Dr. Raj said that this has anguished the community as it’s sheer humiliation citing them as inefficient. The SCs , BCs candidates who apply for various jobs, comes with the demanded qualification not the illiterate or under literate, then why such uncalled for remarks being passed by govt. He also took jibe on AAP ministers and MLAs hailing from the same community that why they aren’t taking up with their govt. for the rights and benefits of their own people. He told the journalists that delegations met the Finance Minsiter Harpal Cheema who himself belongs to SC community and is a lawyer himself and Dr. Baljit Kaur was also approached but in vain. None raised voice for their poor, downtrodden brethren who work hard to study in odd circumstances and reach to these levels. Dr. Raj demanded that AAP government should withdraw the writ petition fron Hight Court and implement the SC Act in letter and spirit. This advertisement should be taken back and reissued considering the due reservations of all beneficiary communities and in case this is not done, PPCC SC Department will held protests and picket the CM’s residence.
