
Chandigarh: The Postgraduate Department of Computer Science and Applications at GGDSD College in Chandigarh on Monday hosted a lecture on data visualization using tableau. The event was organized under the PM-USHA Scheme.
Manish Arora, a scientist and registrar at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) in Ropar, delivered the lecture. Arora is an expert in his field, having implemented major government projects in Big Data Analytics and Augmented & Virtual Reality. He has also developed financial and recruitment systems for the public sector and led training programs for defence personnel.
The event began with the ceremonial welcome of Arora by GGDSD College Principal Ajay Sharma and event convener Rina. In his address, the principal highlighted the importance of such sessions in expanding students’ knowledge of technology and encouraging them to seek new opportunities. He also acknowledged the hard work of organizing secretaries Shailja Agnihotri and Ojasvi Anand.
Over 50 participants attended the session, where Arora introduced them to Tableau’s key features, including interactive dashboards, AI-driven insights, and real-time analysis. He demonstrated the practical applications of the software and stressed the value of data visualization tools for both industry and personal skill development.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Rina, the head of the department.
