DGR HOLDS STATE-LEVEL WORKSHOP TO STRENGTHEN GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL SYSTEM

Chandigarh, August 1:

          Punjab Governance Reforms and Public Grievances Department on Tuesday conducted a one-day state-level workshop on Public Grievance System for all State Nodal Officers at Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), here. The focus of the training was to equip the nodal officers from various departments with the necessary skills to enhance their efficiency of using the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS). Over 100 state nodal officers participated in the workshop.

          The workshop was held on the directions of Governance Reforms and Public Grievances Minister Mr. Aman Arora as a part of initiatives being taken by the department towards refining the grievance redressal system in the state.

          The comprehensive training session delved into both theoretical insights and practical knowledge related to the effective utilization of the PGRS platform. Participants were educated on the crucial significance of timely and efficient grievance redressal, emphasizing the need for diligent and transparent handling of citizens’ grievances. The training also encompassed education on the policy and processes involved in grievance redressal, providing the nodal officers with a holistic understanding of the system.

           Meanwhile, Mr Aman Arora said that the state government is committed to providing a citizen-centric approach to governance. “The PGRS is a valuable tool for citizens to register and track their grievances”, said the minister while adding that this workshop will help nodal officers to use the platform effectively, ensuring that grievances are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

          Reiterating the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government’s commitment to building an administration that is accessible and responsive to the needs of its citizens, Mr. Aman Arora said that the initiatives like this state level PGRS training program mark significant strides towards achieving excellence in public service delivery.
