
The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has apprehended Satinder Kumar, Assistant in Emergency Ward, Civil Hospital, Ludhiana red handed
Chandigarh February 13, 2025 ; The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) is conducting an ongoing drive against corruption in the state. They have apprehended health employee Satinder Kumar, Assistant in Emergency Ward, Civil Hospital, Ludhiana. He was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 7000.
An official spokesperson of the state VB disclosed this here today. The spokesperson said the above mentioned accused have been arrested. This action is based on a complaint lodged by Vijay Kumar, a resident of Jassal Colony, Ludhiana. He further informed that the complainant has approached the VB. The complainant alleged that the above said health employee has demanded a bribe of Rs 10000. This was for issuing a receipt regarding the medico-legal report. The complainant further alleged that the accused has already taken Rs 3000 from him regard a d demanding the remaining amount.
The spokesperson added that after a preliminary enquiry on this complaint a VB team from Economic Offences Wing, Ludhiana range laid a trap during which the accused Assistant has been arrested red handed while he was accepting Rs 7000 as a bribe from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. In this regard a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against the said accused at VB police station Ludhiana. Further investigation into this case was under progress, he said.
