
The forest and wildlife department of Punjab govenrment has rolled back it's proposal of increasing the eco sensitive zone limit from 100 m to 3 km and has deposed before Supreme Court stating that the limit will stay at 100 m only for Nayagaon Municipal Comiittee.

They have deposed before the Supreme Court, stating that the limit will stay at 100 m only for Nayagaon Municipal Committee.
Celebrating the victory of people of Nayagaon amid thumping Dhol in front of Gurudwara Barh Sahib and Shiv Mandir, the chairman of Nayagaon Ghar Bachao Manch and senior BJP leader Vineet Joshi said that people of Nayagaon, Kansal, Karoran and Nada have won.
BJP mohali district secretary Bhupinder Bhupi and MC Surinder Koshish Babbal rejoiced the moment. MC Pramod Kumar and MC Babloo Lori joined them in celebration. Atul Arora and Mazdoor sena leader Madan Lal were joyful as well. Brahmkumari Nayagaon chief Gyaan Chand Bhandari celebrated too. Mithlanchal Chhatth Puja Samiti senior leader Kameshwar Shah was happy. Gau sewa leader Sushil Rohilla, among others, shared in the joy.
Joshi said that since November 2024, they have been holding 24 nukkad sabha. They also held a protest march towards the house of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwan Singh manb. They are demanding that the government scrap its orders.
He added that the Punjab government at last had to bow before the power of people. They declared that the Eco-sensitive zone will be restricted to only 100 meters.
He added that this has brought respite to over 2 lakh people. The new orders would have affected these individuals.
