*Khelo India Youth Games Special :Haryana and Maharashtra compete for first and second place on the medal tally*
Chandigarh, June 6, From the initial trends of the medal tally of Khelo India Youth Games-2021 being held at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula, Haryana, it seems that Haryana and Maharashtra will be vying for the first and second place. One after the other the players of both the states are elevating their states in the medal tally.
Haryana girls were the first to make it to the final in the Kabaddi match on the fourth day. In the first semi-final, Haryana girls did wonders by defeating Andhra Pradesh by 50-15 points in a one-sided match. The audience also left no stone unturned in their encouragement. The second semi-final will be between Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
Similarly, in the Kabaddi Boys match, Uttar Pradesh beat Maharashtra by 41-37.
*Volleyball semi-final matches begin*
The first semi-final match of volleyball will be played between Rajasthan and Haryana, the second between Tamil Nadu and Gujarat, while in the first semi-final of girls, Haryana and Gujarat will compete.
*Haryana got a great start again in the wrestling matches*
In the 61 kg weight category, Savita of Haryana defeated Vanshika Gosai of Uttarakhand 10-0. Rekha Jat of Madhya Pradesh defeated Meenaben Patel of Gujarat 10-2 while Nikita of Delhi defeated Khushi Thakur of Himachal Pradesh to advance to the next round.
*Shuttler Unnati Hooda becomes the subject of discussion*
Unnati Hooda, the youngest player to represent India in the Thomas Cup, entered the next round by winning her first match in badminton singles. It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi had asked Unnti how she got along with other senior players after winning the Thomas Cup. He had asked what is it in Haryana that the players here bring the biggest medals, and Unnati Hooda said that it is the good dietary habits.
*Haryana’s Preeti wins bronze in Under 18 girls category*
Preeti of Haryana bagged bronze medal in the Under-18 Girls category. In this category, Konjengbam Thaja Chanu of Manipur won gold while Saira Zahoor of Jammu and Kashmir won the silver medal.
*Haryana bags gold in Yoga*
In the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games in Panchkula, Haryana, Yoga players of Haryana won gold in the under-18 boys category of Artistic Group Yogasana.
In the boys’ under-18 category, today the players of Haryana’s Yogasana team stood first with 120.99 points and beat Maharashtra’s team.
Haryana’s Yogasana team includes Rohit Kumar, Sagar Rana, Jeetu, Gaurav, Prabhat Kumar.
Maharashtra came second in this category, and scored a total of 118.5 marks. Similarly West Bengal secured the third position scoring 115.16 marks. Tamil Nadu stood fourth with 112.54 marks.
