Chandigarh,May 5, 2025 : The Punjab Civil Secretariat Officers’ Union has raised concerns over the non-payment of salaries to state government employees for the current month. Union leader Manjeet Singh Randhawa stated that the salaries have not been credited yet, despite the usual disbursement date.
Randhawa claimed that a treasury official informed him the delay was due to “verbal instructions” from senior officers in the Finance Department. No written order or official communication has been provided to justify the hold-up.
“We demand the immediate release of our salaries,” said Randhawa. “Employees are facing financial hardship due to this unexplained delay. If there is a genuine issue, the government must clarify officially instead of withholding payments without notice.”
The Punjab Finance Department has not yet issued a formal statement on the matter. Employees await clarity on when their salaries will be processed.Bhagwant Mann government’s big bonanza to six lakh employees and pensioners of state
