VB Nabs ASI for Rs 11,500 Bribe: Second Instalment
Accused previously received Rs 2,000 to accept bail bonds in police case
Demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 11,500.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its relentless campaign against corruption in the state on Friday nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Harwinder Singh, posted at police post Golle Wala, police station Sadar, Faridkot for demanding and accepting Rs 11,500.
Today, the state VB spokesperson reported the arrest of an accused based on a complaint by Dilpreet Singh from Golle Wala, Faridkot district. The complainant alleged the police personnel demanded a Rs 15,000 bribe for accepting bail bonds in a case against him and his brother. The accused had already taken Rs 2,000 as the first installment and demanded Rs 13,000 more.
To substantiate the claim, the complainant provided an audio recording of the second installment demand as evidence. After a preliminary investigation, VB Ferozepur range arrested the police official accepting a Rs 11,500 bribe.
The VB team has recovered bribe money from his possession on the spot. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered, and the accused will appear in court tomorrow.
