Amit Shah, Tomar promise all help to farmers
Chandigarh, Dec 13: The Centre is prepared to resolve all grievances of farmers in order to end the deadlock between them and the government. This assurance was given by Union Home Minister Amit Shah when a delegation of the senior Punjab BJP leaders led by state president Ashwani Sharma today called on him and Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar in Delhi.
The delegation also discussed the present political scene in Punjab in view of the upcoming municipal elections in Punjab.
In a statement, Sharma lauded the role of Punjab farmers in the past but regretted that their plight had been deteriorating over the years. The three bills would usher in a new era of agriculture reforms and would go a long way in improving their plight.
Sharma said the Centre was prepared to address every fear and apprehension of farmers on the three bills and hoped that farmers would soon withdraw their protest. He said the BJP would always stand by farmers and protect their interests in all circumstances.
Sharma was accompanied by Union Minister Som Nath, Punjab BJP in-charge Dushyant Gautam ,MP, state organisational secretary Dinesh Kumar, general secretary Subhash Sharma.
