The Kinnar community of Punjab demonstrated outside the Chief Minister’s residence
To raise their voice to the administration Kinnars of Patiala, Rajpura, Ambala, General Secretary of Kinnar Welfare Board Tamanna Mahant, Poonam Mahant, Chele Shabnam Mahant and many members of the fraternity organized a press conference at Chandigarh Press Club on Tuesday, and after that Protested outside the Punjab CM Captain Amrinder’s residence and submitted a memorandum to his OSD Sandeep Brar.
* What is the matter,*
Simran Mahant attacked and beaten Poonam Mahant in Patiala on 25 May 2021 with some goons, anti-social elements and looted 20-25 lakh rupees in cash and half a kilo of gold and other valuables, Especially Tamanna Mahat’s guru Poonam Mahant’s face was spoiled by beating and Sonia’s arm was also fractured. Nandni and Sonia were kidnapped, who were recovered by the warrant officer on the instructions of Punjab and Haryana High Court, after lot of struggle, the FIR was registered but on the same day due topolitical pressure, the police also registered a cross FIR under the same sections. The FIR registered on 25th May was registered under Section 379 ,452, 365, . In fact, Simran Mahant had sold his movable/immovable property in front of all the eunuch community, including her area, 3 houses, etc., for Rs 3 crore to Shabnam Mahant and her disciples. Poonam Mahant later married a boy and adopted normal married life in Aerocity Mohali. , but the disciples with whom she had taken this step after getting fed up, are now again spreading terror with them. In this episode, she also attacked the dera in Rajpura on June 17, in connection with which a case has been registered against Simran Mahant under 452 and other sections, but, despite so many incidents, due to political interference, Simran Mahant is not arrested so far. Surprisingly, even after the recovery of all the looted goods, neither the police is doing the necessary paperwork nor is making the recovery memo in this case. The police is giving us only 20 percent recovery of goods without any receipt.
*What is the demand*
Although the Kinnar community is peace loving, but they will have to fight for their rights, even if they do not have to gherao the CM’s house again, they will not back down. We demand this entire case be investigated Transparentely by an Independent Agency, if we do not get justice, then we will protest in front of the Honorable Supreme Court, and administration will be responsible for the loss of life or property of any transgender community.
