Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday campaigned for the AAP’s Ferozepur candidate and addressed a huge public rally in Abohar. Mann talked about various issues and demands of Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency and said that he is aware of the problems of the people here. He said that at the demand of farmers here, his government is giving canal water to narma fields. The rest of the issues of this area will be solved one by one too.

CM Bhagwant Mann thanked the people of Abohar for their love and said that for him Abohar is not a tail. They see from Chandigarh and call it the tail of Punjab. From where I see Abohar comes first, said CM. Mann said that he has been campaigning in Ferozepur since yesterday and he is delighted that the horticulture farmers and cotton farmers (Narma) are getting canal water for their crops. He said that his aim is that 100% farms in Punjab should get canal water so we don’t need tubewells anymore.

Mann said that he is fighting against the centre, the BJP and governor, they don’t release our funds, stop our bills, don’t allow sessions, he has to go to the Supreme Court. He said that he is fighting and he will keep fighting, but give him more strength, strengthen him in the parliament and give him 13 more hands and voices to do work and protect Punjab’s rights in the parliament. He said that the AAP has 7 MPs from Punjab in Rajya Sabha and with 13 in Lok Sabha, we will be very strong in the parliament, then we will use that strength to get Punjab’s funds released and our MPs will raise your issues there.

Taking a dig at Sukhbir Badal, he said that while being MP Bhagwant Mann never saw Sukhbir Badal in the parliament, let alone raising any issues of Ferozepur or getting work done. He said that Badal knew he was going to get defeated badly that is why he fled Ferozepur. Mann also recited his famous kikli 2.0 targeting the Badal family.

Mann said that he has big plans for Punjab as well as Ferozepur. He said that he wants to bring food processing companies to Ferozepur. He said that now Kinnows will have a market in Punjab, Punjab government will serve Kinnows in the mid-day meal at schools, we buy Bananas from Kerala to give children, now we will give them our very own Kinnows from Abohar, Guavas in the season and Litchis from Pathankot.

Mann also attacked the BJP and their leaders, said, they come to Punjab and start giving threats, are they here to ask for votes for Lok Sabha or topple his government, asked Mann. He said that threats don’t work on the people of Punjab, they gave me 92 seats because they love and trust me. Mann said that no one can buy him because he is not for sale. He said that Punjabis won our country from the clutches of the Britishers, 80% of our freedom fighters were from Punjab, now they are issuing threats to us, our sons are guarding the borders of India. Mann said that Modi brought anti-farmers bills and our farmers protested against them, sat at the borders of Delhi for about a year and half, more than 750 farmers died, then Modi had to apologise and repeal the farm laws.

Mann said that he is like them (people), he is one of them, for the first time Punjab has a CM whom people call ‘Bai ji’ (Malwai word for big brother), people can stop Mann anywhere and anytime. He said that the previous ones were ‘kaka ji’, ‘raja ji’, and ‘biba ji’. He asked the people to press the ‘jharoo’ button on June 1st and said that if I can make your electricity bills zero, you can make Akali, Congress and BJP zero in Punjab. Mann said that he is not asking for votes for himself or his children, he is asking for votes for the common people, their children and for their future.
