Chandigarh/Ludhiana, January 2: Temporary Pumping Station : Local Bodies minister Dr Ravjot Singh inspected the ongoing works. Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal accompanied him. They conducted the inspection together. Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh and Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal inspected the area.They are working to set up the temporary pumping station near Gaushala point of ‘Buddha Dariya’ on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jitendra Jorwal was present during the inspection. MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal also attended. ADC Rohit Gupta was there. MC Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, along with other officials of the civic body and Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), participated.
Authorities are establishing a temporary pumping station under ‘Kar Sewa’.
MP Seechewal is establishing a temporary pumping station under the ‘Kar Sewa’ initiative to clean ‘Buddha Dariya’.. The plan is to pump sewerage waste from Gaushala point directly to STP Jamalpur. The temporary pumping station moves sewerage waste from Gaushala point to Jamalpur STP. The process will continue until officials establish a permanent Intermediate Pumping Station (IPS) at the Gaushala site.
The project to establish the Gaushala IPS is pending due to an ongoing court case. During the visit, cabinet minister Dr Ravjot Singh discussed the steps. Take these steps to speed up the process.
Temporary Pumping Station : Minister Directs PPCB to Address Pollution Issues
Cabinet minister Dr Ravjot Singh instructed the officials of Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) to take steps. They must work with the civic body. They must ensure that cow dung and industrial waste are not dumped in ‘Buddha Dariya’.Dr Singh also directed the concerned officials to expedite establishing biogas plants in Haibowal. He also wants quick progress at the Tajpur road dairy complexes. Officials have been directed to make temporary arrangements for using cow dung to generate biogas in these plants.They should lift cow dung from dairy units. They need to dump it at designated points.
Mann’s Government Committed to Cleaning ‘Buddha Dariya’
The Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann’s government is committed to cleaning ‘Buddha Dariya’. is committed to cleaning ‘Buddha Dariya’. Local bodies minister Dr Ravjot Singh praised the steps taken under the ‘Kar Sewa’ initiated by MP Seechewal. Dr Singh said the establishment of this temporary pumping station will certainly help in reducing pollution in Dariya. The Jamalpur STP will properly treat the domestic waste (sewerage) before it enters the Dariya.
Dr Singh stated that the government is taking necessary steps to reduce pollution in ‘Buddha Dariya.’ The government has issued strict directions to the concerned departments.
