Teachers reach out to parents of more than 12 lakh primary school children by phone during ‘Rabta Muhim’: Krishan Kumar

Expressing satisfaction over the successful completion of ‘Rabta Muhim’ by the school teachers, the Education Secretary Krishan Kumar urged the teachers to carry out activities for the education of the students with more determination.
After the week-long campaign, Krishan Kumar said that parent-teacher contact campaign was launched by the primary school teachers from May 24 to 31, during which a new record of telephone contacts was set with 12,71,727 parents of primary school students.
The Education Secretary said that the main objective of this campaign was to discuss with the parents about the education, health and prevention of Covid-19 epidemic as well as an all round development of the students. Meanwhile all Officers, teachers and other staff members were engaged in this campaign through phone call and video conferencing. The parents of the children were informed about online education and the activities being carried out by the education department under ‘ Garh Bethe Siksha’. Teachers also informed the parents about the TV class schedule, facilities being provided by the government schools, moral education and ‘Welcome Life’ subject. The teachers urged the parents to campaign for enrollment of students in government schools.
. Krishan Kumar said that all the school principals and teachers have done a great job in keeping the children engaged in education. Parents were sensitized with the help of social media before launching the campaign. With the consent of parents, phone calls have also been recorded which will be shared through social media to motivate other parents towards government schools. Parents showed great enthusiasm for this unique initiative.
Dr. Davinder Singh Boha State Coordinator ‘Parho Punjab, Paraho Punjab’ Primary said that the District Education Officers, Deputy District Education Officers, Principal Diet, Block Primary Education Officers also interacted with many parents of the children studying in the schools. He is satisfied to know that government school teachers are not only taking care of the children but are also connected with the children by phone and providing online education to these students.
