SOCIAL SECURITY , WOMEN AND CHILD MINISTER DR. BALJIT KAUR HELD A MEETING WITH THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO MAKE NECESSARY CHANGES IN THE ECCE POLICY OF THE STATE
SAYS, EVERY CHILD NEEDS CARE AND A PROPER ENVIRONMENT TO GROW

Under the chairmanship of Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, an important meeting was held today with the Education Department to effectively implement the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) policy in the state at her office, Punjab Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh.
Divulging in this regard, Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the period of 0-6 years is very important for every child when they need physical, emotional, psychological, and social support the most, as it lays the foundation for their future. In this context, ECCE emphasizes aspects of healthcare, nutrition, playways, and early learning in a protective environment that is extremely beneficial for the holistic development of children.
She said that in view of the new education policy, 2020, the updated policy is to be prepared by July 31, 2023, after making necessary amendments by the Education Department and the Social Security, Women and Child Development Department to make necessary changes in the ECCE policy of the state.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Social Security, Women and Child Development, Mrs. Raji P. Srivastava, Director Mrs. Madhvi Kataria, DPO Mr. Amarjit Singh, Mr. Sukhjit Singh, and representatives of the Education Department were specially present.
