Chandigarh, 19 August 2025Punjab is stepping into a new era of smart governance, where technology, transparency, and accountability are reshaping the way the state is run. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is proving that smart thinking and clear intentions can save public money and strengthen governance.Earlier, crores of rupees were spent in the name of road repair without any investigation. Now for the first time it has happened that the roads of the entire state were surveyed through artificial intelligence and videography. Out of 3,369 roads examined, 843 were found to be in perfectly fine condition. These were the same roads on which previous governments had wasted crores in the name of repairs. This time, ₹383 crore was saved. Now, this money will be spent on public welfare instead of unnecessary tenders and corrupt repairsBut the change doesn’t stop at roads, the Mann government has set out to overhaul the entire system. In Punjab’s prisons, a ₹252 crore modernization drive is underway, with 5G jammers, AI-enabled cameras, and live monitoring to ensure complete security. In policing and taxation, advanced technology is being embraced to create systems rooted in efficiency and transparency. Even the transport sector has been transformed, the archaic, corruption-prone process of obtaining a driving license has been replaced by AI-based HAMS technology, ensuring every test is recorded and free of manipulation. Most importantly, education has been placed at the heart of Punjab’s technological revolution. The government is training 10,000 teachers in artificial intelligence. These will not be just teachers, they will be pioneers who will teach the language of AI to the coming generations. Lakhs of students will now get AI training at the school level itself, so that the youth of Punjab will not be just a job seeker, he will become a job creator himself. The government has also taken strides to ensure that agriculture and culture are part of this transformation. AI-based courses have been started in Punjab Agricultural University, so that even the families associated with farming can get technical education. At the same time, a mission to integrate the Punjabi language into AI has been launched, giving global recognition to the mother tongue while opening digital career opportunities for local youth. This change is not just about policies, it’s a change in mindset. Development in Punjab now goes beyond roads and buildings; it’s about access to technology that makes life easier for every citizen. The Bhagwant Mann government has shown that when intentions are honest and decisions are made in the public interest, people’s money and their future are secure. Today, Punjab is moving in a new direction where decisions are visible on the ground, not just on paper. This is the Punjab that will now be known not for scams, but for integrity, progress, and forward-thinking development.
