Sangrur emerges on top in arrival & procurement of paddy Patiala leads in lifting
Chandigarh, November 12: Sangrur District is leading in the ongoing Paddy procurement season. It ranks first in both arrival and procurement.
The Punjab Government is led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. It has lived up to its commitment to a smooth procurement season. It has ensured a solid mechanism in the mandis. This mechanism aims to protect the interests of all stakeholders, including farmers, arhtiyas, and labourers.
By November 11, farmers brought 15376697.06 LMT of paddy to the mandis, out of which agencies procured 15269488.62 LMT—crossing the 99% mark. They have already lifted 13854981.49 MT of the procured crop, surpassing 90%.
Sangrur has accounted for top positions on both the arrival and procurement parameters. The state recorded an arrival of 13,30,792.77 MT and a procurement of 13,28,302.88 MT. Bathinda secured the second position in both arrival and procurement, with arrivals at 13,03,454.28 MT and procurement at 12,53,400.20 MT. Patiala ranked third in both categories, recording arrivals of 11,20,786.79 MT and procurement of 11,20,772.77 MT.
In terms of Lifting, Patiala has achieved top spot so far with 1087806.56 MT and Sangrur coming 2nd with 1083766.01 MT. With 1070364.39 MT, Bathinda occupies 3rd position in lifting category.
