SAD was the only party which voted against the three agri bills : Sukhbir Badal

Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal Met Kisan Unions representatives at Park City resort here and told them how Shiromani Akali Dal had taken feedback from their leaders and conveyed the same to the BJP top leadership. Sukhbir said I told them the SAD was all along told by the centre that the apprehensions of farmers would be addressed. We even suggested to the central government that the three farm ordinances be referred to a Select Committee. When this was not done we took a firm stand in parliament.
Sukhbir Badal said The SAD was the only party which voted against the three agri bills even as the Indian National Congress and Aam Aadmi Party abstained. Following this then union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned from Modi Cabinet and we even quit the NDA alliance. Sukhbir said I told the farmer unions representatives that the SAD even held a non- stop protest outside parliament for the entire period of the monsoon session. I told the representatives that the next SAD- BSP government would not implement the three agri laws in Punjab.
