Sukhbir S Badal condemns CM for vacationing in Chennai at a time when Punjabis are battling floods
Chandigarh, August 26 -: Shiromani Akali Dal ( SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today postponed the party’s Fateh rally, scheduled for August 31 in Moga, due to the worsening flood situation in Punjab.
The SAD president also issued a clarion appeal to the party cadre to fan out in flood affected areas and help the distressed. He urged party cadre to provide manpower, diesel, plastic pipes, tractors, food packets and fodder at affected places.
The SAD president also expressed shock that chief minister Bhagwant Mann was oblivious to the suffering of the people and was vacationing in Chennai with his family at a time when the people of the State were battling flood waters. He termed this action as shameful and disgusting while demanding the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government release interim compensation to the flood affected persons immediately besides providing timely relief.
Badal said he was trying to reach each and every flood affected place and provide as much succour as possible. “I have visited Fazilka, Abohar and Sultanpur Lodhi in the past few days and am visiting Tarn Taran today. There are reports of flooding in Hoshiarpur also for which I have deputed SAD team to help the distressed”, he added.
