Urges Public Calm on Fuel Supply

Amidst the strike of drivers and transporters, District Administration Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar has assured the general public that the situation is under control and there is no need to worry. Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain has also appealed that petrol diesel should not be created by unnecessary storage. He said a meeting has been held with sales managers of transport unions and oil companies to ensure smooth supply of petrol and diesel in the district, given the current situation.

Amid the strike of drivers, the district administration Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar has assured the general public that the situation is under control and they need not to worry. She also appealed to not create paucity of petrol diesel by hoarding the fuel. Taking view of the present scenario, the Deputy Commisioner said that she has conducted a meeting with the transport unions and sales managers of the oil companies to ensure the uninterrupted supply of petrol and diesel in the district.
Since the new hit-and-run law was recently established by the Indian government, truck operators are protesting it all over the country because they believe it is unfair to them. Truck drivers started a nationwide strike on January 1, 2024, by obstructing traffic. Essential services have been disrupted as a result, with emergency ambulances and daily wage workers now swarming gas stations to obtain gasoline and fuel. Health services are being badly impacted by the gasoline scarcity, which is also negatively harming agriculture and related companies.
