Chandigarh, July 28: Reiterating the firm commitment of the state government to impart quality health services to people, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday flagged off 58 new hi-tech ambulances to serve the people of the state.

The Chief Minister, flanked by Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh, dedicated these Advanced ambulances to the people of the state thereby ensuring that they are available to people in hour of distress. With this addition, the fleet of ambulances now totals 325, all serving people across the state to ensure timely health services. These ultra-modern ambulances must reach needy patients within 15 minutes in urban areas and 20 minutes in rural areas.
The ambulances will work with the Sadak Surkhya Force to ensure they save people’s lives during emergencies by providing timely healthcare. Moreover, they purchased 58 hi-tech ambulances for Rs 14 crore, equipping them with life-saving drugs and ultra-modern equipment. Consequently, these ambulances will act as a catalyst, providing primary treatment to save patients’ lives promptly.
State’s Ambulances Transport Over One Lakh Patients
The state’s fleet of ambulances has already provided a great service to humanity by safely transporting over one lakh patients to hospitals this year. Specifically, this includes 10,737 heart patients, 28,540 pregnant women, and others. Notably, 80 babies were delivered safely in the ambulances. Moreover, the Sadak Surkhaya Force is coordinating with the 108 helpline to use these ambulance services for saving the lives of commuters who meet accidents on the roads.
