Punjab Revenue Minister emphasizes importance of teachers in moulding society

Gives away awards for outstanding achievers of academia, cultural and sports arena

Rajpura/Chandigarh, November 23:

Punjab Revenue and Re-Habilitation Minister Aruna Chaudhary said the teaching profession is a pious occupation and the entire nation is indebted to the teaching community for their sterling services towards nation-building. The Educational institutions are like religious places, the Cabinet Minister said while nostalgically remembering her school time.

Terming the role of teachers as equivalent to that of the mother during a function held at Patel Public School Rajpura, the Cabinet Minister urged the teachers to help students learn by imparting knowledge to them. She also accentuated the role of teachers as most important in instilling moral values. On this occasion, she assured teachers a congenial atmosphere to perform their duties. She underlined the need to streamline the entire system which will prove equitably benefitted for teachers and students.

Accompanied by MLA Hardayal Singh Kamboj, Mrs. Chaudhary urged the students to scrupulously utilize every second of their time in furthering their studies. Encouraging the students to have a goal and work hard towards achieving that, she emphasized the need to hone up one’s time management skills so that one can pursue his/her life goals passionately. She motivated students to be compassionate towards others and help each other to grow together as a team. Motivating students to take part in Bhangra, NSS, Sports and other cultural and allied activities, the Cabinet Minister said these extra co-curricular activities hold equal salience with studies and must be pursued in equal measure.

During the function, Mrs. Chaudhary bestowed awards to the students who scored above 90% marks and achieved success in the sports and cultural fields. During the function school children also exhibited various cultural events included folk dance Sammi and English play. A special award was also accorded to the teacher who served the school for 25 years and has been present in the school all the year round.

On the occasion Principal Patel Public School Chayya Narula and Director Dr. Sukhbir Singh Thind welcomed the chief guest with warm words and also shared their vision and motivated students to attain success in life. President of Management Committee of Patel Public School Gurinder Singh Dua, Vice President Rajesh Anand, General Secretary Surinder Kaushal, Finance Secretary Thakuri Khurana and Secretary Vinay Kumar were also present.
