Punjab Police Crack Murder Case
ANOTHER ACCUSED INVOLVED IN MURDER HAS ALREADY DIED, SAYS SSP SAS NAGAR
CHANDIGARH/SAS NAGAR, December 15:
In line with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision to enhance Punjab’s safety and security, SAS Nagar Police resolved the Crack Murder Case blind murder case of budding singer Navdeep Singh Virk, known as Issapuria. SSP SAS Nagar Dr. Sandeep Kumar Garg announced one arrest.
The apprehended individual is Abhishek, also known as Rajat Rana (25), a resident of Umarpur village in Shamli District, Uttar Pradesh. Another accomplice, Saurav from Sultanpur Barwala, involved in the murder, reportedly died due to a drug overdose. The 9 MM Pistol used in the crime was already recovered by the Raipur Rani Police of Haryana.
Details provided by SSP Dr. Sandeep Kumar Garg reveal that the incident dates back to May 2018 when Navdeep Virk was targeted by Abhishek and his accomplice Saurav to snatch his Micra car. Following heated arguments, the budding singer was shot dead. Navdeep Virk’s body was discovered by his family members in a vacant plot of Usha Yarn Factory after locating his Nissan Micra Car near Expo Forging on Barwala road.
FIR No. 144 dated 28.05.2018 was registered under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Dera Bassi.
SSP Garg highlighted that a Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by SP Investigation Amandeep Singh Brar, investigated the case professionally and scientifically. The SIT included DSP Investigation Gursher Singh and CIA Incharge Mohali Shiv Kumar.
The investigation revealed that the accused individuals were affiliated with the UP-based Rahul Khatta gang, and the motive behind the murder was to snatch the car from the slain singer, allegedly for the commission of another crime.
Meanwhile, the arrested accused Abhishek has a criminal record and faces at least seven criminal cases related to Murder, Attempted Murder, Dacoity, etc. now Police has resolved the Crack Murder Case
