Punjab Home Guard Volunteer Nabbed for Taking Rs 10,000 Bribe
Chandigarh , January 31 : updatepunjab. : On Wednesday, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) arrested Punjab Home Guard (PHG) volunteer Harjinder Singh from Police Post in village Lalton Kalan,Ludhiana district, for accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe.

Today, a state VB spokesperson disclosed that Mandeep Kaur of Bhai Bala Colony, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana, filed an online complaint to the Chief Minister’s anti-corruption action line.
Mandeep Kaur accused PHG Harjinder Singh and ASI Ravinder Kumar, both stationed at Lalton Kalan Police Post, of demanding a Rs 30,000 bribe to assist in a police case involving her brothers.
Already accepted a bribe of Rs 10,000
She claimed that PHG Harjinder Singh had already accepted a bribe of Rs 10,000 on behalf of ASI Ravinder Kumar. Mandeep Kaur provided recordings of the demands made by Harjinder Singh as evidence to the VB.
Home Guard Volunteer arrested.
After conducting an investigation, the Vigilance Bureau range in Ludhiana confirmed the allegations. Subsequently, they registered a case, FIR No. 05 dated 31.01.2024, under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act against Home Guard Volunteer Harjinder Singh at the VB police station in Ludhiana range, and authorities arrested him.
