PUNJAB GOVERNOR GREETS PEOPLE ON SRI GURU RAVI DASS JAYANTI
CHANDIGARH, FEBRUARY 4, 2023: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shri Banwarilal Purohit, greeted people on the eve of Sri Guru Ravi Dass Jayanti.
Lauding the great saint and the religious reformer, Governor in his message said that Guru Ravidas Ji was one of the greatest saints to have been in our land. He espoused the cause of the downtrodden and worked untiringly to establish peace, harmony and brotherhood in society.
Recollecting the words of the revered saint “रैदास मानुष ना जुड़ सके, जब तक जाति ना जात”, meaning till the time discrimination based on caste continues, people will not be able to connect with each other and social harmony will not be possible; social unity will not be possible; there will not be equality in society, the Governor impressed upon the need to create a casteless and classless society as envisioned by Sri Guru Ravi Dass Ji.
“May his teachings of love, compassion, tolerance and equality inspire us to lead a life of service to humanity” said Purohit and added that the real tribute to the revered saint would be to carry forward his legacy to the future generations.
