PUNJAB GOVERNMENT STARTS DRIVE FOR COMORBID JAIL INMATES IN 18-45 AGE GROUP
543 INMATES VACCINATED SO FAR: RANDHAWA

The Punjab Government is approaching the task of getting the people vaccinated in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, with a missionary zeal so as to ensure that nobody is left behind in this holistic endeavour.
Disclosing this here today, Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that as part of the ongoing process, a total of 543 jail inmates (18-45 age group) with co morbidities have been vaccinated. The minister further pointed out that the vaccination for the inmates falling in the age group of 18 -45 years (with comorbities) will be completed expeditiously.
Divulging details, the Registrar Cooperative Societies and Nodal Officer for Covid vaccination in the State Vikas Garg said that Amritsar accounts for the most number of jail inmates inoculated with total count of 245 while in respect of Hoshiarpur the number stands at 113, Rupnagar 74, Ludhiana 38, Kapurthala 18, Gurdaspur 23, Ferozepur 15, Sri Muktsar Sahib 8, Bathinda and Jalandhar 4 each and Fatehgarh Sahib 1.
