Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to welfare of Divyang persons
Chandigarh, May 12
The Punjab Government has released an amount of Rs.110.00 lakhs for the financial year 2023-24 for the attendance scholarship scheme for divyang girl students of the state.
Divulging in this regard, Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the Punjab Government is committed to the welfare of the divyang persons in the state. She said that the stipend given under the ‘Scholarship for Handicapped Students’ scheme is given for the purpose of further encouraging the divyang students to study.
The Cabinet Minister added that apart from this, welfare schemes are implemented from time to time by the Punjab government to make the lives of the disabled people capable.
Dr. Baljit Kaur further said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is continuously working for the welfare of the divyang persons in the state. She instructed the officials that this amount should be deposited in the account of divyang students as soon as possible.
