PUNJAB GOVERNMENT APPOINTS 124 MEDICAL OFFICERS (GENERAL) ON REGULAR BASIS

Chandigarh 17 December:

          Health & Family Welfare Minister Punjab Balbir Singh Sidhu on Thursday  handed over the appointment letters to 124 Medical Officers (General) on regular basis.

          Health Minister stated that these newly appointed 124 doctors were part of the 500 Medical Officers appointed in the Department. These appointments are being made under the ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Yojna’ launched by Chief  Minister Punjab Capt. Amarinder Singh. Health Minister said that all these appointments have been made on a merit basis in a transparent manner and these new appointments will help bridge the gap of doctors and would serve a great purpose in strengthening the medical services in Govt Hospitals. It will also prove helpful to provide quality treatment services to corona patients.

          Welcoming the newly appointed doctors in the department, Mr Sidhu urged them to perform their duty honestly and diligently. He expressed that they all must serve the people selflessly.

          Notably, about 7000 regular and contractual recruitments were made in the Health Department as part of CM’s Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojna in the last 3 years which included Specialist doctors, Medical officers, Dental officers, paramedical and other staff on regular and on contract basis. Recruitment of 3954 vacancies is in process.

          On this occasion, Director Health Services Dr. Manjit Singh, OSD to Health Minister Dr.Balwinder Singh, Deputy Director Dr.Arvinder pal Singh Gill, Superintendent E-4 Ms. Nirlep Kaur and State Programme Officer (IEC & Media) Shivinder Sehdev, Mass Media Officer S. Gurmeet Singh Rana and other officers were also present.
