
PREVIOUS GOVERNMENTS GAVE JOBS AT FAG END WHEREAS NOW JOBS GIVEN FROM FIRST DAY
Chandigarh, August 21: Continuing ‘Mission Rozgar’ to illuminate the lives of Punjabis, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday set a new milestone by giving more than 55,000 jobs to the youth of the state during the first three years of its regime.
“The previous governments gave miniscule number of jobs to the youth at the fag end of their tenure but ever since my first day in office in office I have made sure that the deserving youth get the jobs due to which 55,000 of them have got government jobs”, said the Chief Minister.
Addressing the gathering during a function to hand over appointment letters to the newly appointed youth, the Chief Minister said that today 271 youth have joined the family of Punjab Government and now they will become an active partner in social and economic progress of the state. He said that this is not any favor for the youth of the state but they deserved these jobs due to their caliber but none of the previous governments ever bothered about them. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that these youth have got jobs completely on the basis of merit.
The Chief Minister exhorted the newly recruited youth to become integral part of the government adding that now should serve the people with missionary zeal. Bhagwant Singh Mann hoped that the new recruits will use their pen for helping the needy and underprivileged sections of society. He said that the newly recruited youth should ensure maximum welfare of the public so that every section of society is benefited from it.
The Chief Minister said, “It gives me immense pride and satisfaction that the state government has already provided more than 55,000 government jobs to the youth. We have made all the recruitments purely on merit by adopting a completely transparent process. The youth secured these jobs after clearing exams in cut-throat competition.” Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the sole agenda of his government from day one has been to empower the youth by giving government jobs to them.
Describing it as a historical juncture, the Chief Minister envisioned that these jobs will transform the destiny of youth. He said that this venue has witnessed many events. In these events, youth have secured jobs in various government departments. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this shows the commitment of the state government. They aim to ensure the well-being of youth. They are also opening new avenues of employment for them.
The Chief Minister criticized the traditional political parties. He said that the previous governments never paid heed towards imparting quality education to the students. He said that the sons and daughters of big leaders used to study in convent schools at hills. For this reason, the government schools were never their thrust areas. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the government schools did not focus on education during the previous regimes. They were merely mid day meal centres.
In stark comparison to it, the Chief Minister said that to provide quality education, government schools are now being upgraded to Schools of Eminence. It is a proud moment for Punjab. The state has ranked first in the National Achievement Survey conducted by the Government of India. Punjab has even surpassed Kerala. He said that 848 government school students have qualified for the NEET exam. Additionally, 265 students cleared JEE Mains. Furthermore, 45 cleared the JEE Advanced exam. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no freebee or concession cards can eliminate poverty or other social maladies in the state. Education is the key that can pull people out of this vicious circle by raising their standard of living.
The Chief Minister said that they never aspired to come in the field of politics. However, the previous regimes mercilessly plundered the state and its people. This forced them to join this field. He said that these opportunist and greedy leaders had ignored the state for their own vested interests. As a result, people ousted them. This paved the way for new people to come and join politics. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that they are working tirelessly for the development of the state. They aim for the prosperity of its people. He added that no stone is being left unturned for it.
The Chief Minister said that in the past, the leaders of the state used to jeopardize the interests of Punjab. Today, the state government is focusing on overall growth and prosperity of the state. He said that the earlier leaders were skeptical of meeting the people. In contrast, the state government today is working solely on the basis of their feedback. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that every effort will be made to safeguard the interests of the state and its people. The aim is to make them an active partner in the social and economic development of the state.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab is witnessing a new era of unprecedented development. The state government has made strenuous efforts. These efforts give a major push to growth and progress of Punjab. He said that all sectors, such as education, health, power, and employment, have observed unparalleled development. This has happened during the last three years. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the intent and will of the state government are clear. They aim to serve the people of Punjab with dedication. They focus on commitment and integrity.
On the occasion Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Dr. Ravjot Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Tejveer Singh, Secretary Education Anindita Mitra and others were also present.
