Chandigarh, January 15: The Punjab Government has taken a path-breaking move to empower the state’s young women. They have trained 265 Punjabi Girls for the Army, CAPF, and Punjab Police. This was achieved through Centre for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth (C-PYTE) camps across the state. This is the first time such training has been provided. Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora informed this. He was chairing the 5th Governing Council meeting of the C-PYTE at his office on Wednesday.
“Punjab to Open C-PYTE Camps for Girls and Youth Employment
He highlighted another major decision. The state will soon open a C-PYTE camp exclusively for girls aspiring to join the armed forces. The camp will be located at village Theh Kanjla in Kapurthala district. The women staff will run it entirely. The authorities will establish an additional C-PYTE camp in Pathankot district. It will enable the state’s youth for employment into the Police, Armed Forces, and CAPF. Currently, Punjab has 14 C-PYTE camps across the state.
Young Women : Aman Arora directed the officials to complete the work
Aman Arora directed the concerned officials to complete the work of under-construction three new camps. The camps are located at village Asal Uttar (Tarn Taran), village Kheri (Sangrur), and Borewal (Mansa). The team should finish the work within the stipulated time.
Jaspreet Talwar Updates Cabinet Minister on Training and Employment of 2.58 Lakh Youth”
Principal Secretary Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Ms. Jaspreet Talwar apprised the Cabinet Minister. She reported that these C-PYTE camps have trained 2,58,760 youth free of cost. Of these, 1,15,649 have been employed. The camps provide training for uniformed forces. They additionally offer training for alternative employment. This enhances the youth’s employability. She informed that the program will train at least 150 youth as Drone Pilots. It will train 300 as Security Guards. Additionally, 150 will be trained as JCB/Crane Operators this year.

Director General of C-PYTE Major General Rambir Singh Mann informed that the staff of C-PYTE camps have been working assiduously. They aim to instil values such as national integration, discipline, and social concern in the youth. The goal is to make them better citizens. Additionally, they train and guide them to find jobs in the armed forces, police, para-military forces, and other industries.
