PUNJAB CM ANNOUNCES EX-GRATIA OF RS. 50 LAKH FOR NEXT OF KIN OF MARTYR SEPOY LOVEPREET SINGH

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday announced ex-gratia compensation of Rs. 50 lakh, to the Next of Kin (NOK) of Sepoy Lovepreet Singh (16 RR/11 Sikh) who laid down his life in the line of duty. The braveheart was on a patrol when he lost his balance and fell in a deep ravine in Surankot (Poonch sector), Jammu & Kashmir on August 20.
Extending his sympathies with the bereaved family of the brave soldier, Captain Amarinder Singh said that the soldiers utmost dedication to defend the country’s unity and integrity, even sacrificing his life would inspire his fellow soldiers to perform their duties with far more devotion and commitment.
Sepoy Lovepreet Singh, hailed from Village Mari Tanda of tehsil Batala in Gurdaspur district and is survived by his Father Subedar (Retd.) Jaswinder Singh, Mother Rawinder Kaur and a brother Sepoy Manpreet Singh, who is serving in 10 Sikh.
