Punjab Bachao Yatra” Renamed “Akali Dal Bachao Yatra

Chandigarh, 1st February 2024 – Punjab Congress President, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, addressed the media today, delving into the prevailing political landscape of Punjab and the nation.

In his remarks, the PPCC Chief asserted, “The Shiromani Akali Dal appears to lack a cohesive motive and vision, resorting to efforts just to maintain relevance within Punjab’s political setup. Their undertaking of a yatra within Punjab reflects a lack of originality, resembling an imitation of the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra.”

Commentary on SAD-BJP Alliance

Continuing his critique, Raja Warring stated, “This yatra seems superfluous. How meaningful is a ‘save Punjab’ initiative when there is potential alignment with the BJP in the works,

Punjab’s primary political adversary? The Akali Dal’s leadership, lacking a clear direction, seems to be grasping at straws merely to sustain their relevance.”

The PPCC Chief went on to propose a renaming of the yatra, remarking, “The yatra should aptly be termed the ‘Akali Dal Bachao Yatra,’ signifying the internal discord within the party, where calls for the resignation of Sukhbir Singh Badal, the party president, are gaining momentum.”

Further talking about the SAD and BJP alliance, the PPCC Chief said – “Akali Dal should know that the people of Punjab have not forgotten how they had initially supported the three black farm laws and had only broken their alliance with the BJP after immense pressure from the people of Punjab.

How can the Akali Dal talk about saving Punjab when they are as accountable as the BJP for the death of close to 800 farmers at the borders of Delhi? People of Punjab do not forget, and I am certain that BJP leaders will not be allowed into the villages and their recently announced ‘Go to Village’ Campaign will be a massive failure. ”

Commenting on the recent Mayor elections in Chandigarh, Raja Warring expressed dismay, stating, “Yesterday, we witnessed a lamentable assault on democracy. In my 25 years of political experience, such an incident has never transpired. While the Akali Dal speaks of saving Punjab through their yatra,

they contemplate forging an alliance with the BJP, the very political party undermining the foundations of our nation – democracy.”

Affirmation of Congress’ Vision

Concluding his discourse, the PPCC Chief affirmed, “The Congress party has a vision for the future which would resonate with a significant populace, particularly the people of Punjab.

Our meticulously planned roadmap will convey to the people that Congress is the epitome of an ideal political entity for Punjab and the entire nation.

It is evident that the challenges currently being faced by our state and nation were not prevalent during Congress’ governance. It is imperative now to relinquish the rule of the BJP and its affiliates like AAP in Punjab, thus ushering in a governance that aligns with the values essential for our nation and state.
