Next SAD govt to provide govt jobs to families of Kisan Andolan martyrs : Sukhbir  Badal

 

Chandigarh, July 9: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today declared that once the SAD-BSP alliance comes to power in 2022 it would provide government jobs to families of Kisan Andolan martyrs as well as free education to their children till post graduation.

In a statement released here today, the SAD president said the present agitation against the three hatred farm laws was continuing since the last seven months. He said that more than 550 farmers had been martyred during this time. He said that the SAD-BSP alliance had decided that once the alliance came to power in Punjab in 2022 it would look after the needs of the martyr families.

Badal said that farmers sitting at Delhi borders had faced not only inclement weather including rain and storms & also State repression but had continued their agitation resolutely. “We are committed to ensuring the farmers get their just dues. While we support the movement against the three agricultural laws which seek to end assured government purchase of food grains as per the minimum support price, we also consider it our duty to ensure those who died while fighting for justice are given their due. Once we are voted to power we will implement the promises made to martyr families in the very first meeting of the State cabinet”.

Badal said that apart from government jobs and free education, the SAD-BSP government would also ensure free medical insurance of such families. He said that all expenses in this regard would be borne by the Punjab Government.

He said that he was making these promises to Punjabis as President of the SAD and would ensure they were implemented once a SAD led government was sworn in in 2022.
