CHANDIGARH/BATHINDA, June 27: Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav announced Thursday that Counter Intelligence (CI) Bathinda, in a joint operation with Bathinda Police, thwarted potential target killings linked to Gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar by arresting three shooters.

This effort aligns with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision to ensure Punjab’s safety and security.

Arrests and Recoveries: Key Details

      Police have arrested Karandeep Singh alias Kannu from Navi Basti in Maur Mandi, Raghuveer Singh, and Kulwinder Singh alias Bittu, both residents of village Kot Shamir in Bathinda.

Additionally, police teams have recovered three pistols, which include one 9mm pistol and two .32 bore pistols. Moreover, they had six live cartridges and six magazines in their possession. Additionally, police impounded their Hyundai Verna car.

Police Operation Thwarts Target Killings Plot

     DGP Gaurav Yadav acted on intelligence suggesting associates of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar planned target killings in Bathinda, Mohali, and nearby areas. CI Bathinda and local police teams launched a joint operation, setting up a checkpoint at Maur Chowk to apprehend the shooters.

SSP Bathinda Deepak Pareek Announces FIR Registration

SSP Bathinda Deepak Pareek announced the registration of FIR No. 72 dated 27-06-2024, under Section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Maur in Bathinda. Moreover, he stated that further investigations are underway to trace the forward and backward linkages in this case.

Sharing more details, AIG CI Bathinda Avneet Kaur Sidhu said that Police teams have identified two more operatives of this module. “We are conducting raids to nab them,” she added.
