CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 28: Flaying him for stooping too low in his efforts to tarnish Farmers struggle, Senior Punjab Congress leaders on Monday dared Ashwani Sharma to not cross lines of propriety and decency in political discourse.

In a hard-hitting joint statement issued here Senior Cabinet Ministers including Brahm Mohindra, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Vijay Inder Singla, OP Soni and Sunder Sham Arora castigated Ashwani Sharma for levelling unfounded allegations against the top police officer of the state adding that this hollow politicking won’t help bjp’s already failed cause.

“You have called our farmers Khalistanis, urban-naxals and ultra-left, have not you”, the Ministers asked him adding BJP only masters in deflecting the issue, which won’t work in Punjab as farmers have seen through your machinations and vile promises.

His frustration in face of massive public rejection of farmer laws is understandable but losing mental balance so soon is not, Cabinet Minister Brahm Mohindra quipped referring to state bjp president’s allegations against the DGP.

The Ministers collectively flayed Sharma for trying to vitiate peaceful atmosphere of Punjab by these irresponsible statements warning bjp leader to abstain from any such thing and focus on resolving farmer concerns

Underlining state government’s resolve to ensure welfare of farmers, Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora said that our Anndatas have been named and shamed by BJP whose nefarious designs they have seen through. BJP is shamelessly trying to divert attention from pressing issues the nation faces by indulging in irresponsible and dangerous politicking, he said adding Punjab government would never allow centre to succeed in its plans to destroy agriculture at behest of crony capitalists.

This is shameful, petty, reprehensible and totally uncalled for what Sharma has said, Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu said adding this tantamount to tarnishing farmers struggle by calling them goons.

Pointing out that BJP had miserably failed to read pulse of farmers across country, Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla said Punjabis especially are feeling cheated by centre policies and would demonstrate their anguish by packing off BJP from the state in next assembly elections.
