Pb Govt Introduces Sports Code for Enhanced Event Management

Chandigarh, February 15 Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government has drafted a Sports Code for sports associations to facilitate smooth conduct of sports events across Punjab, aiming to reclaim the state’s position as a leader in the field of sports.

Divulging the details, Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that the Sports Department has drafted Sports Code with the suggestions of experts for the better performance of the various Sports Associations of the state while supplementing the ongoing efforts for the betterment of sports.The government has also sought public opinion before implementing this code to ensure more effective and efficient implementation.

Meet Hayer further announced that the department has uploaded a draft copy of the code on its website www.pbsports.punjab.gov.in to solicit suggestions from sports persons, associations, and the general public before implementing the  code.

Interested individuals may send their suggestions about the code to the Department’s email, dir.sportspb@punjab.gov.in, until 10 March 2024,

The Sports Minister said that the State Government has also implemented the new Sports policy efficaciously after taking suggestions from the general public, which brought good results in the Asian Games when the players of Punjab broke the record of 72 years and bagged record 20 medals. Now the Sports department has also prepared for the implementation of the Code, which will greatly improve the management of sports in the state.
