On Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann turned 50 and to celebrate his birthday the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab organised 117 blood donation camps, one in every assembly segment.

CM Mann himself was in his native village Satoj where he organised an akhand path and spent the whole day with the people of Satoj to celebrate his day. Whereas, the youth and AAP volunteers celebrated Mann’s birthday by donating blood in large numbers.

The cabinet ministers of Punjab government and AAP MLAs participated in these blood donation camps to donate blood and encourage more and more people to do the same. Punjab Health Minister Dr  Balbir Singh reached civil hospitals in Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and Rajpura where blood donation camps were organised by assembly-level teams. Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO reached Civil Hospital Amritsar, Kuldip Singh Dhaliwal were present at Civil Hospital of Ajnala, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains in Civil Hospital Anandpur Sahib, Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa in Satnam Hospital of Hoshiarpur, Minister Baljit Kaur reached a camp organised in sector 44 Chandigarh, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer at Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Charitable Eye Hospital-Sohana, and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema teach Dirba and Satoj blood donation camps. Punjab Local Bodies Minister DCP Balkar Singh reached blood donation camps in Jalandhar. Along with them AAP MLAs also helped organise these camps in their constituency and donated blood.

AAP Punjab chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said that camps were organised in civil hospitals of every assembly segment but PGI, red cross and private hospitals were also roped in to store blood so that not even a drop of donated blood goes to waste. He said that blood donation is a great service to humanity and there is no better way to celebrate the birthday of a true leader like Bhagwant Mann who had dedicated every minute of his life to his state.

AAP Punjab working president MLA Principal Budh Ram said that the blood donation camps organised by district and block units of party in every constituency
got a much more overwhelming response than expected. He said that the people of Punjab love Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and donated record blood units to celebrate his birthday. He said that the response from youth that we got in these blood donation camps is particularly commendable.
