Move aims to streamline the verification process for Caste, Residence, Old Age Pension Scheme and Income Certificate

Chandigarh, July 7:  In a significant move aimed at making Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services hassle-free and convenient, as committed by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government, the Department of Governance Reforms (DGR) has onboarded Patwaris into the e-governance system. This initiative allows the general public to avail the majority of verification services from the comfort of their homes. The move will streamline the verification process for applicants seeking various certificates, including Caste, Residence, Old Age Pension Scheme, and Income Certificate.

“Today, Punjab Governance Reforms and Grievances Minister Mr. Aman Arora announced in a press release that his department had created login IDs for online verification for all Patwaris.”

Applicants would no longer need to visit Patwari offices

Today, he stated that by incorporating Patwaris into the online system, applicants no longer need to visit Patwari offices to have their verification reports stamped and signed. He added that upon submission, the respective office will forward the application online to the concerned Patwari if applicant verification is necessary.”

Aman Arora further emphasized that the online verification system aims to eliminate unnecessary paperwork, expedite the processing of essential documents, and significantly reduce the gratuitous burden on the applicants. Additionally, these efforts aim to modernize administrative processes and enhance overall governance in the state.
