Chandigarh, May 9 Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Thursday, applauded the Punjab Police for their action against two gangsters and informed through his X account that both the gangsters are arrested.
There is no place for gangsterism in Punjab
CM Mann on his X account wrote, “Punjab Police took action against two gangsters and arrested them. There is no place for gangsterism in Punjab. Whoever will try to take law into their own hands should remember that the gangsters no longer have any political patronage in Punjab. Strict action will be taken against such people.”
It is notable that earlier today there was an encounter in New Mullanpur between gangsters and Mohali police’s special cell. In this encounter, police injured two gangsters, Vikram Rana aka Happy and Kiran, before arresting them. Both individuals face multiple criminal cases, including the murder of bouncer Manish Kumar, aka Mani Rana, who was killed the day before yesterday. Mohali police’s special cell worked efficiently and arrested both the accused.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann set up an anti gangsters task force (ATGF) in Punjab. This force is headed by a police officer of additional director-general (ADGP) rank. The purpose of this task force is to eradicate organised crime and ensure law and order in the state.
The Mann government is also providing the police department with the requisite manpower, latest equipment and information technology to ensure the efficiency of the Punjab police.
The Chief Minister time and again have said that Punjab government is according top priority to wipe out scourge of gangsters and drugs from state. The previous governments used to patronise drug trade and gangsters in the state but now none of them will be spared now.
The AAP government has had a firm stance against gangsterism since day one.

The Chief Minister asserted that the state government commits to maintaining peace, law, and order in Punjab at all costs. He emphasized that no one will disturb the hard-earned peace of the state, and the severest action will be taken against gangsters and anti-social elements. Bhagwant Mann reassured Punjabis that every effort will be made to make Punjab a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive state.
