Chandigarh, December 22

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has  termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an irresponsible leader and an insensitive prime minister for his government’s failure to resolve issues and concerns of the farmers, adding that he was dragging his feet on the issues arising out of the three deadly laws passed by the Centre. The party said that the PM was indulging in a dilly-dallying exercise to divert the attention of the people from the core issues faced by them.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Tuesday, Leader of  Opposition (LoP) in the Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema, said that the ruling BJP government was not heeding to the genuine demands of the farmers and end the stalemate. He said  by diverting peoples’ attention from the core issues, like the rising inflation hitting the roof, unemployment and deteriorating law and order situation in the country, saying ever since PM Narendra Modi took the reins of the country, he had been, instead of solving the problems the people of the country were facing, was resorting to theatrics to delay settlement of issues pending for a long time. Cheema said that the people of the country, especially the farmers, had come to know his evil designs to hoodwink the gullible people, saying his tricks won’t succeed any more.

Cheema on the occasion said that today due to the stubborn attitude of the Modi government at the centre, every section of the country, including farmers, traders, laborers, small-time shopkeepers were facing a plethora of problems. The LoP said that the Prime Minister should give shun his policy of acting as a mediator to Andanis and Ambanis and immediately repeal the black laws as were posting a potential danger to the future of the farmers across the country. He added that as the prime minister of the   country, he should shun his egoist stance and address the issues and concerns of the farmers, sooner than later since they had been struggling on the Delhi borders to protect their bread and butter?

Harpal Cheema said “The Modi government’s failure to speak to the agitating farmers over their demands proves the point that all he was doing was at the behest of the Andani-Ambani. The Prime Minister should repeal the laws, keeping in view the  sentiments of the country’s ‘annadata’. The Modi government’s dilly-dallying on the farmers’ issues and ending the impasse by  interacting with them has proven his as an ineffective Prime Minister of the country. The only way forward was not to on linger on the issue of the farmers but to address them on a priority basis”
