Chandigarh, 17 February. The state BJP president Shri Adesh Gupta has said the Arvind Kejriwal government which completed two years of its third term could spend only 21 per cent of the state’s complete budget. While the budget is worth Rs 65000 crore, spending only 21 per cent of it is a telling story of Kejriwal government’s intention not to do anything in Delhi right from the beginning.
Addressing a joint press conference here today with senior party leader Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa, while appealing to people of Punjab, he said since past seven years Kejriwal has been lying to Delhiites and misleading them which amounts to duping and one should therefore be wary about such people. Present with them at the dais were national spokesperson and state party IT cell and social cell in charge Shri Shehjad Poonawala and state media head Shri Naveen Kumar Jindal.
He said the Delhi model of Kejriwal is these mohalla clinics which are in a bad shape and whose setting up cost Rs Rs 1500 crore and another Rs 500 crore are spent yearly. But the kind of medicines being given there are such that they take the lives of children, he stated. While talking in Punjab of giving employment there, the fact is a large number of aanganwadi workers have been sitting outside Kejriwal’s residence here since past over a week but instead of bothering about them he is busy campaigning. He said there are 22000 guest teachers in Delhi who have till date not been regularized. And when they went to the courts, they were shown the door.
The state party president said Kejriwal discussed issues about Punjab by calling a special session of state assembly but has no time to talk to farmers sitting on indefinite dharna outside his residence since past eight days in support of their long pending demands. Rather, he is busy making false promises to farmers in the poll-bound Punjab. Farmers in Delhi are paying electricity charges as per commercial basis and so much so that they don’t even get any subsidy for buying tractors, fertilizers or any farm equipment.
Shri Gupta said by promising Rs 2616 MSP to farmers in Punjab he is only trying to mislead them. He said Kejriwal had promised 11000 new buses but when he took over seven years ago there were 6600 buses whose number has now come down to 3700 only.
Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa, while urging the people of Punjab for a change again in the state, said to make Punjab safe, free from unemployment and drugs and for overall well being we will have to bring BJP –led coalition government in the state. He described Kejriwal as ‘bahrupiya’ and AAP a gang of robbers saying whatever promises he is making in Punjab, he hasn’t kept even single one of them in Delhi.
Shri Sirsa said while promising to make Punjab free from drugs, same Kejriwal has opened 850 liquor shops in Delhi to ensure everyone gets liquor and in fact, is doing the liquor business here. He charged the AAP supremo with trying to break the Hindu-Sikh brotherhood in Punjab saying it’s a group which only specializes in politics of dividing people for the power. I will quit politics if he could name even 5000 people who got jobs though he had promised employment to 10 lac people in Delhi, he asserted.
The senior party leader said Punjab badly needs a double engine government by the BJP. The Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi, believes country’s well being and safety is from Punjab. He charged Kejriwal with scaring the Hindus in Delhi whereas the fact is in Punjab the Hindu-Sikh unity is like ‘maas and nakhoon’ and cannot be separated.
