Minister Dhaliwal hands over appointment letters to the newly appointed SDOs
SAS Nagar, May 16: Punjab Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Monday handed over appointment letters to newly appointed 19 Sub Divisional Officers in rural development department at Vikas Bhawan, Mohali .
Congratulating the newly appointed officers during his address on the occasion, Cabinet minister said that every youth must set a goal in their life and should not step back till the goal has been achieved.
Calling upon the newly appointed officers to perform their duties with honesty and diligence, he expressed the hope that the newly appointed Sub-Divisional Officers would take their department to the heights with their hard work, honesty and diligence.
The Cabinet Minister said that unemployment is the biggest problem in Punjab and under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is making all out efforts to provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth of the state.
He said that just in the second month of the formation of his party’s government, advertisements for more than 26,000 government jobs have already been issued. Apart from this, the data on vacant posts of all departments is being collected by the Chief Minister and a recruitment drive at gigantic scale for government jobs will be carried out to ensure that youth of Punjab will get employment.
Terming the response of anti-encroachment drive overwhelming, Cabinet minister also lauded the efforts of rural department and praised people for relinquishing encroachments from panchayat lands.
He said people are voluntarily coming forward to give up encroachments from panchayat lands and this drive is being carried out without any discrimination.
Dhaliwal said that for the first time, the rural development department has taken a historic initiative to hold Gram Sabha functions in all the villages across the state.
On this occasion, Gurpreet Singh Khera, Director, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Amit Kumar, J. D. C. The secretary-cum-special secretary, rural development and panchayat department and other senior officers of the department were also present.
